Welcome to The Caregiver Space!
As caregivers ourselves, we understand that sharing honestly with other caregivers helps us let go of guilt, stress, anger and fear. We’re also here to share advice from the community about what’s worked for us. Not everyone has access to a panel of experts with caregiving experience, but here at The Caregiver Space you do. We are a community that knows just what you mean.
Now that you’re here, you can:
- Connect with other caregivers on our community forums to ask questions, share experiences, get real answers, and get things off your chest.
- Talk about whatever’s on your mind in our moderated chats, taking place 7 days a week, or pop into the chatroom at any time, day or night, to talk to other caregivers who are online.
- Read real perspectives from caregivers in all walks of life and share your own in our Caregiver Stories.
- Get realistic advice and guides to common issues in The Caregiver’s Toolbox, a library of articles, videos, and infographics. Our experts have both official credentials and the real world experience in caregiving.

Thanks caregiver space for addressing issues many can’t-don’t-won’t express! Your space is a breath of fresh air! – Leslie Ann Shields
So grateful this page exists. Having an outlet & support group that I can access from my phone will be priceless. – Carol Scott Scheibe
Thanks so much. Many of the comments has and had me in tears. Because of The Caregiver Space, I’ve found helpful information during my mom’s battle with Alzheimer’s. Now that she has made her transition, this page has really helped me. I was told that all this grieving is too much or either I’m over doing it and when talking to someone about my feelings, I feel as though I’m annoying. Thanks so much to the community for the encouraging works, condolences and prayers and also thanks for creating this page. – Sharon Nelson
The Caregiver Space was founded in 2012 by Adrienne Gruberg (originally The Caregiver’s Survival Network). Adrienne was a caregiver to her late husband Steve and mother-in-law, Sylvia for six years. She recognized the experience of feeling isolated as a fulltime caregiver was not unique. Adrienne conceived of an online space caregivers could access from home for meaningful support and understanding. Three years after losing her husband and mother-in-law to cancer, she founded this non-profit to address the needs of family caregivers.
Is this site for you?
A caregiver is someone caring for an ill family member, friend, or client. Others are family caregivers for children with special needs struggling with a specific condition like autism, cerebral palsy or Down syndrome. Still others are live in caregivers for an aging parent, many of whom are providing Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s care. Others are professional caregivers, working in people’s homes, day centers, and residential facilities.
The Caregiver Space has something to offer all of these caregivers. Our virtual community provides a non-judgemental niche to decompress and share experiences.

Thank you for creating this site..it has been an amazing place of ‘refuge’ for me. It helps so much to know that there are others going through some of the same things that we are..and also to realize, unfortunately that some have it even worse. It’s a wonderful thing to have the availability to access anytime on my PC or phone. – Connie Jacobs
When I feel empty, lost and there are never enough hours in a day I will come to your page to know I am not alone. Thank you thank you thank you… – Sunny D Blue
